Last year, Epson launched their win-a-robot competition; a search to find fantastic new projects that can use an Epson robot in an innovative way. Robotics experts gathered in Düsseldorf to choose three winners, with a robot up for grabs for each successful applicant.
Applications came in from 23 universities, and were judged on innovation, education, skills development, unique robot usage and sustainability.
We travelled to Germany to film the nail biting decision-making and created a series of films to promote the competition. Starting with a trailer-like promo, we ramped up the tension, even introducing Bertie the robot as one of the star judges.
When it came to the winners, there were so many brilliant ideas that Epson chose to award a total of six. From Choco-Bot to agriculture, there was a real range of innovation, and we look forward to seeing how the winning projects turn out.
